AME JEWELRY

COMMERCIAL / NEW YORK / 2020

The AME NY 2020 project for a jewellery store in New York was challenging both from the design and production as well as the logistics perspective.

The interior design was done by BK Baranowitz Kronenberg in Tel Aviv. Our scope was the cladding of all walls and the ceiling. We started the whole process with the selection of the technology which would satisfy the expectations of the Client. In cooperation with the architects from BK studio, our designers created shop drawings and full documentation for the assembly to be performed by an American contractor.

The ceiling on two stories of the store was covered with supermirror stainless steel panels. The proprietary system of suspension and assembly allowed us to fully adjust and level individual panels to achieve a uniform effect of the “mirror”.

The walls were predominantly cladded with black steel. In this case, we immediately faced a challenge.  First and foremost rolling of 4-meter long metal sheets.

Exclusively for this project, our technical designers designed a machine which could handle this size panels. This stage, including the production of the rolling mill, took us just 2 weeks.

According to the architect’s concept, the panels were to look like hot-rolled steel. This posed another challenge. Due to the lack of availability of steel that would visually meet the assumed criteria, we created a special varnish, thanks to which we achieved the required effect and protected the panels against corrosion. We applied seven coats of the varnish.

The entire project required perfect organization and thoughtful logistics. We shipped all items by air. Our company also delegated employees to supervise the assembly process on-site in the USA.

We succeeded.
